Frequently asked questions

What is Google Tag Manager (GTM) and why is it needed?

GTM is Google's free tool that lets you manage all analytics and ad tags on your site (GA4, Meta Pixel, Google Ads, Hotjar etc.) from one place without involving a developer for every change. It's the standard solution for managing marketing and measurement logic.

Does GTM slow down the website?

Practically no. GTM loads asynchronously and only the tags you need. A properly configured GTM actually improves performance by replacing many separate scripts with a single container.

Can I manage GTM myself after setup?

Yes. We hand over full access, documentation and instructions. If needed, we run a short training so you can add new tags and events yourself.

How does GTM differ from directly installed code?

Directly installed code requires a developer for every new tag. GTM lets you do this through the web interface with versions and previews — changes take effect in seconds, without a deploy.

Does GTM work with Wix, WordPress and Shopify?

Yes, it works with all popular platforms. On WordPress we install a plugin or paste the code directly, on Shopify via an additional script, on Wix via a custom code block. There's a right solution for every platform.

What is the dataLayer and why is it needed?

The dataLayer is a JavaScript object where the site pushes event data (product view, purchase amount, user ID). GTM reads it and sends it to analytics. A correct dataLayer is the foundation of accurate e-commerce and conversion measurement.
