E-commerce focuses on purchases, cart and revenue — we measure money. Event logic, dataLayer and conversion value are different.
Phone number clicks we measure as tel:-link clicks (on mobile triggers an immediate call). For larger accounts we recommend Google Ads Call Conversions or call tracking (CallTrackingMetrics, CallRail) — that gives real call data, duration and source.
GA4 + Google Ads linking gives accurate lead counts per channel. Each conversion stores attribution — which ad or channel the user used before submitting the lead. We show this graphically in a Looker Studio report.
GA4 counts each form as a separate event, which is correct behavior. Google Ads conversions can be set to "one conversion per click" mode that excludes duplicates. In Meta we can also deduplicate via event_id.
From GA4 you can export event statistics (how many forms, which sources), but personal data (names, emails) is not stored in GA4 for privacy reasons. Form data stays in your contact form's destination (email, CRM, Sheets).
